Once in Brisbane, there lived a pretty girl,
green eyes, with hair in curls,
Her smile was bright, but her eyes would tell you about.
Of a sadness deep inside her, hidden well.
One winter's day, she entered her home,
But even with her father, she felt alone,
Packing her bags, she left without a sound,
Never looking back, leaving Brisbane town.
And as the years went by, I just couldn't forget,
The way she looked, the day way she left,
But life goes on, as it always will,
And I found myself missing her still,
And so, I wrote this song, withing hope in my heart,
That she would hear it, and know where I've been.
Back to Brisbane, where her heart will always be.
And I hope she'll find her way back home.
